Production of the movie was started on May 30, 2018, in California, and the movie is scheduled to be released by Paramount Pictures on July 12, 2019, but due to covid 19 the movie gets delayed again and again but now it seems that the movie top gun 2 is all set to hits the theaters on May 27, 2022. After the theatrical release, It will be streamed on Paramount+  within 45 days.
